We are seeking an experienced Red Hat OpenShift Consultant to join our team. In this role you will help design, deploy, and optimise enterprise-grade OpenShift environments, guiding our clients through modern containerisation, DevOps practices, and cloud-native application delivery. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where both technical depth and strong communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and maintain Red Hat OpenShift clusters across on-premises, hybrid, or cloud environments.
- Lead assessments, migrations, and upgrades of existing Kubernetes or OpenShift platforms.
- Automate deployment pipelines using GitOps or CI/CD tooling (e.g., Argo CD, Tekton, Jenkins).
- Advise customers on OpenShift best practices, security standards, and operational excellence.
- Troubleshoot complex platform issues and ensure high availability, performance, and reliability.
- Provide knowledge transfer, documentation, and training to technical teams.
- Collaborate with developers, SREs, and infrastructure engineers to drive cloud-native adoption.
- Designing and implementing custom solutions to meet clients’ unique business needs.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in Red Hat OpenShift and related technologies
Requirements
- Strong hands-on expertise in Red Hat OpenShift (OCP 4.x).
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes, Linux (RHEL), containers (Docker/CRI-O), and Operators.
- Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency with Ansible, Helm, YAML, Git, and CI/CD tools.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (ingress, service mesh, load balancing).
- Practical knowledge of OpenShift security (RBAC, SCCs, secrets, compliance).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and client-facing communication abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing IT infrastructure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Australian Citizen with Baseline/NV1 Clearance would be ideal but not a requirement.
